The brief
The Victorian cottage in Wisbech was a whole-house project. Its roof and exterior needed attention, and the surrounding garden offered the chance to give the house a fresh setting. The aim was a complete renovation that retained the cottage’s character while making the entire property feel cared for again.
What Lewis did
Lewis planned the renovation throughout, including a new slate roof and a crisp white finish. The windows now have a restored appearance against the lighter walls, and the green front door gives the entrance a clear focal point. Outside, a new lawn and path finish the approach to the home.

The result
Dark slate, pale walls and a green lawn give the cottage a simple, coherent finish. The new path brings the entrance into focus, while the roof and windows retain the proportions of the older building. It is one of the two projects Lewis names first when asked about the work he is proudest of.
